Alwin comes to the Gong by way of Western Australia where he trained at Royal Perth Hospital before completing rheumatology training at Wollongong, St George, and Westmead Hospitals. He works as a staff specialist at Wollongong Hospital, collaborates with the Garvan Institute on immunobiology research, and lectures at University of New South Wales and University of Wollongong. He is interested in all aspects of inflammatory rheumatology, particularly in diagnostic dilemmas and haematological overlap disease.

 

He likes long walks in winter and loves to bake with a weakness for CWA style cakes and is inordinately pleased with his new KitchenAid.
